UNESCO’s Global Observatory on Science, Technology and Innovation Policy Instruments (GO→SPIN) was launched in 2012 by UNESCO’s Division of Science Policy and Capacity-building, via a series of workshop in different part of the work. The workshop in the Lao PDR was held between 2016 November, 16th and 17th at Moung Thanh Hotel, Vientiane, Lao PDR. The meeting was chaired by H.E. Hounphanh Intharath, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Vice Chairman of the Lao National Commission for UNESCO. there were more than 35 participants from different Ministries The workshop was focused on understanding science, technology and innovation (STI) Policy Tools and Instruments for evidence based policy support. To learn about experience of the other part of the World and try to understand and related to the Lao PDR challenge and context. The workshop also introduced participant to the GO-SPIN survey and platform. R&D survey and Innovation Survey were also introduced. Through the workshop the participant have to participate to the upcoming GO-SPIN survey in the Lao PDR.
